Why did you start boxing?
I used to get into a lot of fights as a kid and was even kicked out of Catholic school. Boxing was a sport that I was good at and made me want to work hard. At first, my father didn’t like the idea of it, but once he saw my passion for boxing, he finally gave in.
What are 3 words to describe you?
Fierce, competitive, caring.
What was your favorite moment in boxing?
When I beat Buster Douglas because I was a major underdog. 20 out of 22 boxing writers had picked me to lose the fight.
What makes you want to come to the gym each day?
I have always been obsessed with nutrition and physical fitness. I love being able to enhance people’s lives. To me, boxing is the best integration of functional fitness and resistance training.
